As a voluntary organisation it is incredible to think that a football program has been provided for the children within our town for the last 60 years. There are too many people to thank for working tirelessly over the years but a special mention and note of appreciation needs to go to Vin Bradley, Steve Shields and Dave Brown who first set up Juniors, Clive Beardsley for devoting many years of service by managing teams and overseeing new children joining the club, Jason Ainsworth who navigated the club through the ultimate crisis of Covid, and finally the Committee.
Our gratitude to those above and countless others will never be satisfactorily expressed within this note, but thank you.
Looking forward, we have an amazing platform to build on with 16 teams and over 200 children playing football. I see my role as Chairman in pulling all of these teams together and helping to create something bigger than just playing football and making sure that Uttoxeter Juniors becomes a recognised and integral part of our community.
The target for UJFC is create an inclusive environment for children who are encouraged to try and develop new skills, develop a love for the game and as equally important to build lifelong friendships by making and sharing amazing memories.
Our targets are simple:
1. Continue to grow and offer all children a football experience that is right for them whether it is players new to the game and at the start of their journey to those with outstanding talent being pushed and challenged.
2. To have complete transparency on how the club operates.
3. To have a Committee that fully supports our amazing Coaches, by providing best in class equipment and supporting football tournaments and tours.
4. To have as many girls playing football as boys.
5. To ultimately have our own home that we can cherish and grow within the community.
We run a fully inclusive program where everyone who wants to be part of it is welcome…”
“It is an enormous honour to have recently been made Chairman of the historic Uttoxeter Juniors Football Club.
